I read a sharing today, “Time Management” from Ruan Yifeng’s blog. These 7 seemingly simple sentences can still be recorded and reflected upon if you think about them carefully based on your recent life and work.

Opinion
Here are some of my own views:
- Process switching is very expensive, avoid multitasking and keep a single process.
It’s very interesting here. For computers, multitasking is definitely a killer for efficient processing of transactions. However, it is obviously not applicable to humans. For example: if your thoughts are interrupted, it’s not easy to pick them up again.
- Research shows that you can focus and work efficiently for up to 4 hours a day.
Inefficient time can be used to complete some mature, highly repetitive work.
- Prioritize tasks and don’t regard ‘urgent’ as ‘important’.
In fact, it is easy to say, but how to prioritize tasks is a difficult problem. The four-quadrant method is a good method.
- After getting up, do not check emails and WeChat.
I don’t feel anything about this. I play less on WeChat and don’t use emails for work.
- Avoid meetings, because the most time-wasting thing known to mankind is meetings.
As long as you know, it’s not something you can control when the leader wants to hold a meeting. Just be happy.
- Get up at 4 o’clock in the morning, and by noon, you have completed the day’s tasks.
Except during the Chinese New Year, I really can’t remember getting up at 4am, haha.
- What you wouldn’t do when you’re not free, you won’t do when you’re free.
Always waiting until something has to be done before doing it is an advanced form of procrastination. Have to change.
My thoughts
In the third grade of elementary school, I learned the first useful numerical formula:
Total amount of work = working time x work efficiency
Therefore, in most cases, I don’t like to talk nonsense when doing things. It is best to solve it directly and at once, which is equivalent to the total amount of work at one time. In this way, I can complete the work efficiently and save valuable time.
However, for work and special program development, the goals (requirements) will always change, and you can never get an accurate “total amount of one-time work”. On the contrary, you will get endless work.
Life is also ever-changing. The difference is that you cannot escape life, so try to do your best every day.
